… is the pen name that novelist Cheryl Hodde (pronounced hodd-ee) chose for the medical-themed novels she writes in close collaboration with her husband, Mel—an emergency room physician. Every medical scene you read in a Hannah Alexander novel reflects a Mel Hodde contribution to the story line.
Cheryl and Mel began talking about medical fiction on their first date. They had so much fun conjuring up compelling life-or-death situations that writing cutting-edge medical drama soon became a cornerstone of their relationship. To date they have written 16 novels for major publishers.
Cheryl and Mel chose “Hannah Alexander” as their nom de plume to reflect the twin foundations of their fiction. Hannah means “her hope is in the Lord,” and Alexander means, “servant of mankind.”
The Hodde’s live in Missouri where Mel practices medicine and Cheryl focuses on writing.
